New rules for healthier school lunches
A week after the First Lady and the nation's agriculture secretary unveiled new federal standards for school meals, local education officials are still figuring out exactly what the new nutrition rules will mean for Mountain View schools.

MV bus yard goes solar
The Valley Transportation Authority just completed a major solar panel installation at three bus maintenance yards, including its Mountain View yard on La Avenida Street. The reduction in greenhouse gases from the project will be equal to taking 9,000 cars off the road every year, the VTA reports. (Thursday, 4:59 PM)
