The Mountain View Police Department was busy last week, arresting four suspects in connection with at least seven burglaries.
On Jan. 23, police said Steven Gonzales, 38, of San Jose entered a Mountain View residence and claimed to be checking windows he had helped to install last year. The homeowner recognized him and let him in, but called police after he left when she discovered her wallet missing. Mountain View Police investigated and discovered that Gonzales had not worked for the company that installed the windows since late 2003.
Police arrested Gonzales during a scheduled probation meeting Jan. 28 and charged him with burglary and violating his probation.
Also on that day, Mountain View and Palo Alto police arrested two suspects in connection with a series of commercial burglaries that began Oct. 16.
Working on a tip, detectives from both departments observed Thomas Love, 33, of Palo Alto breaking into and burglarizing the Milk Pail store at 2585 California St. Love was arrested at the scene without incident shortly before 10 p.m. and charged with three counts of burglary and violating probation.
Police also arrested Love's roommate, John Mcintosh, 35, at the pair's Palo Alto residence on a search warrant and charged him with burglarizing the One Hour Cleaners at 580 N. Rengstorff. The two men are suspected of involvement in similar incidents in surrounding communities.
And at around 2 a.m. on Jan. 29, Mountain View police received a report of two smashed glass doors at businesses located at 2505 and 2512 California St. Police recognized the suspect, Antonio Rincon, 27, from the security videotape. Rincon was spotted and arrested without incident on Showers Drive and charged with two counts of burglary.
All four men were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
