Comment on park fields

The Parks and Recreation Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. to review a recent athletic field inventory and allocation study. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide feedback.

The meeting will be held in the Mountain View Public Library's Community Room on 585 Franklin Street. The staff report will be available after 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 and on the city's web site at www.ci.mtnview.ca.us.

Neighborhood safety

The Cuesta Park Neighborhood Association and Orchard Supply Hardware are co-hosting a free Neighborhood Heroes event on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Graham Middle School.

Local police officers and firefighters will talk about home security equipment, emergency preparation, Community Emergency Response, the neighborhood watch program, the city's alarm program and police robots. There will be a raffle for home emergency preparedness equipment and free fingerprinting for children's identification records.
