De Anza announces finalists for president

De Anza College has narrowed its nationwide search for a new president to three finalists, Henry Ingle, Jacqueline Jacobs and M. Brian Murphy. The position was vacated by Martha Kanter when she was tapped as chancellor of the community college district last year.

Each candidate will visit the De Anza campus this month to meet with faculty and staff, participate in open forums and complete a final interview with Kanter.

Jacobs, currently the vice president for instruction at Pasadena City College, will visit De Anza April 14. Ingle, the associate vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas, will follow on April 15. And Murphy, the executive director of the San Francisco Urban Institute at San Francisco State University, will stop by on April 19.

Open forums will be held with candidates at 1:30 p.m. All forums will be held in Conference Room B of the campus center.
