Navy meeting on May 13

The Moffett Field Restoration Advisory Board will hold a meeting May 13 to discuss the Navy's cleanup of Moffett Field. The community group was formed by the Navy in 1994 to offer input and suggestions on the environmental clean-up efforts at Moffett. The meeting will run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Mountain View City Hall's fourth floor gallery, located at 500 Castro St.

County needs seniors' opinions

Mountain View seniors are encouraged to express their views to the Santa Clara County advisory committee on aging services, which is forming a new strategic plan. A public forum will be held on May 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the South Side Senior Center, 5585 Cottle Rd., San Jose.

The committee is also conducting phone surveys and will host a focus group meeting at the Mountain View Senior Center later in May.

Freedom Tour rolls into Moffett

The World War II vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Consolidated B-24 Liberator heavy bombers will be on display at the Moffett Field airport's main gate May 13 through May 18. The display is part of the Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour.

Visitors will be able to tour the aircraft, and for an additional $400 per person, visitors will also have the opportunity to fly aboard either the B-17 or B-24.

The display will run from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on May 13; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 14-17 and 9 a.m. to noon May 18.

Realtors honor local man for volunteerism

Wyatt Allen, a Mountain View resident and vice president of the Bank of Los Altos, will be honored next week with a community service award presented by the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors from the Los Altos/Mountain View district.

Allen is active in many civic organizations, including the Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation fundraising committee, the Rotary Club of Los Altos and the Community Health Awareness Council. He will receive his award at the 41st Annual Community Service Awards Luncheon on May 12. For more information, call 949-9115.
