Obituaries

Services for William Atwood, 79, who died May 5 in Sonora, were held Tuesday at Spangler Mortuaries in Mountain View. A Sonora resident, Atwood served in the Navy during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War. He had 22 years of military experience and was also a retired shipping clerk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Femanda, and daughter, Anita Walters, and is survived by children Alice Davis and Kenneth Atwood of Sonora, Richard Laino of Walled Lake, Mich., Paul Laino of Wheatland, Calif., 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and his niece, Linda Marcel. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association at 1 Almaden Blvd. Suite 500 San Jose, Ca. 95113.
