(December 03, 2004) Who, if anyone, should be allowed to use marijuana?
Asked at the Dana Street Roasting Company.
Pictures and interviews by Jon Wiener.
Anybody who can drink or smoke should be able to use marijuana. There
will always be people who abuse any drug, but grass is one of the least
abusable kinds. ‚‚Ivan Godard, East Palo Alto
It shouldn't be legalized, but it shouldn't be a criminal offense. People
with health problems who really suffer ... that's one group where I'd
say, absolutely, they should be allowed to use it. --Jorg Student, Mountain
View
The majority of lawyers in the country agree that the drug war in general
is a bad policy; I think we should listen to them. I think it should be
regulated the same as alcohol and tobacco are. --Matt Goff, Mountain View
Everybody should be able to use it, especially people who have a medical
condition and might benefit from it. --Joanna Bloomfield, Palo Alto
I support legalization and taxing and regulating the production. If it were regulated, people would know what they're getting.
--Shannon Badiee, Palo Alto
