White Saturns targeted -- 1/04
At 7:56 a.m., a resident on the 500 block of S. Rengstorff Ave. found his 1992 white Saturn missing. While en route to work with a friend, he spotted his stolen vehicle and another white Saturn behind it driving near Rengstorff and California Street. He and his friend followed both vehicles, eventually getting in front of them and blocking them.
The suspect driving the stolen vehicle got out of the car and into the other white Saturn. He is a Hispanic male, about 35 years old with a small build.
At 9:04 a.m., a report of a stolen vehicle was made from the 200 block of Mariposa Ave. Police believe this vehicle is the white Saturn the suspect fled into earlier in the day.
Then, at 9:50 a.m., an officer located a third white Saturn on the 500 block of S. Rengstorff that was unoccupied and parked. Records showed it was a stolen vehicle from E. Palo Alto. Inside the vehicle, police found a stereo and an ashtray.
Finally, at 10:05 am, an auto burglary of a fourth white Saturn was reported from the 2100 block of Latham St. A stereo and an ashtray were missing. These items were identified as the same ones found in the stolen vehicle minutes before.
