Foot race to benefit Stevens Creek Trail
This Sunday, runners will be taking their marks for the 11th annual Trailblazer Race and Trail Walk at Stevens Creek Trail.
The Sept. 25 event is the main annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Stevens Creek Trail and Wildlife Corridor. The easygoing races include 5K and 10K runs and a 5K walk on scenic, mostly level courses. Free children's races, as well as food and entertainment, follow the competitions.
Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m., with events starting at 8:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.stevenscreektrail.org.

Sisters dedicate eco-friendly center
The Sisters of the Presentation will dedicate their new eco-friendly retreat and conference center in the mountains of Los Gatos on Monday, Sept. 26.
Environmentally sound features of the Presentation Center include straw-bale walls, solar and passive-solar heating, photovoltaic panels and a "living roof."
