District holds forum for superintendent search

Community members are invited to a public forum at the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District to tell the board what they would like to see in a new leader for the district.

Superintendent Rich Fischer will retire at the end of the school year, and the district has already hired the search firm Leadership Associates -- the same firm that found Fischer -- to select a new superintendent for Mountain View-Los Altos.

"A significant part of the selection process will be to solicit input from students, staff and community in order to develop a profile for our new superintendent," the district said in a press release.

The forum will take place Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the district office board room, located at 1299 Bryant Ave. in Mountain View. For those unable to attend, the Leadership Associates consultants will be available in the district office all day on Feb. 7, and are accepting calls and e-mails with input. For more information, contact Mary Moore at (650) 940-4669 or mary.moore@mvla.net.
