Country Gourmet worker charged with assault

Police arrested an employee at Mountain View's Country Gourmet restaurant Saturday on assault charges after he allegedly hit a coworker with a broomstick and threatened her with a knife sharpener.

The fight started at around 9 p.m. Saturday at Country Gourmet, located at W. El Camino Real, when two employees start arguing about "work-related" issues, according to police spokesperson Liz Wylie.

Police arrested Juan Figueroa, 28, that evening after he allegedly kicked a female coworker on the thigh, hit her on the back with a broomstick and then brandished a knife sharpener.

The victim suffered only minor injuries, Wylie said.

So this tough guy beat up a woman over what?

My recommendations for how to deal with punks like Juan usually get me in trouble, so I'll sign off now.
