Police say two men were arrested last week after a routine check on registered sex offenders run by a county task force found that one wasn't complying with conditions of his parole and the other had child pornography on his computer.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Mountain View detectives and officers acting under the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) task force conducted 20 compliance checks to ensure that registered sex offenders are not violating the law or the terms of their parole.
During the checks, Charles Reyes, 46, was arrested when police allegedly found evidence suggesting a violation of the conditions of his parole. A second man, Benjamin Wright, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography on his laptop computer. Wylie said Wright is now in jail with bail set at $100,000, and is scheduled to appear in court in the coming week.
