Man slaps woman in pool hall scuffle

A patron of California Billiards, a Mountain View pool hall, was arrested on July 4, after hitting an employee as she attempted to escort him outside.

The incident began at about 11 p.m. when the man began arguing with another patron for "no apparent reason," said Jaime Garrett, spokeswoman for the Mountain View Police Department.

The employee stepped in and attempted to guide the man outside. The man struck her once on the side of her head with an open hand, Garrett said. After hitting the woman the man fled, leaving behind a wallet, which contained identification and a key for a room at a Sunnyvale hotel.

At the hotel police found Kim Brandy, a 48-year-old Sunnyvale man, in the room matching the key found in the wallet.

Brandy was identified by the victim, arrested and charged with battery and public intoxication.

...all these problems but no call to shut down the local alcohol dispensaries? Violence, violence and more violence is the recurring theme in these establishments yet nobody seems to mind.

C. Nation- Did you somehow forget the obscene level of violence that erupted the last time we took your advice?

The article said he was from Sunnyvale...figures! Try going to Paul & Harvey's in Sunnyvale, much thugs and violent-type incidents. I guess they wanted to ruin Mt. View, too!

I haven't offered any advice yet..but yes, prohibition of _any_ substance, when so many have chosen to use it, will never work.
I just gotta laugh every time I think of those on the MV city council being concerned with possible issues at medical cannabis dispensaries, but being so very blind (or uncaring) about all the issues the local alcohol dispensaries have on such a regular basis.

C. Nation is correct.

Alcohol is much more dangerous for the city than medical cannabis.

Maybe if you had less "medical marijuana" you could occasionally think up something more original than the usual quip about shutting down the local alcohol dispensaries.

USA, maybe if you used it it would help you be less confrontational.

Besides, I don't make up these stories. I'm sorry your opinion on the topic butts up against the facts that are occuring in society regarding dangers of booze vs dangers of pot.

USA,

Why do you need a drug at all? I suggest getting help if you abuse any drug.

What makes you think Alcohol is less dangerous for the city than medical cannabis? Why do you think alcohol should be allowed, but not medical cannabis?

If this character was charged with public intoxication in a Bar then it seems to me the Bar owner should be charged with aiding and abetting.....
