A box of Bluetooth headsets were stolen from a Mountain View Sprint store just after 6 a.m. on March 8, police said.
The burglar, or burglars, got into the store -- located at 1355 W. El Camino Real -- by forcing open a pair of double doors, according to Liz Wylie, a spokeswoman for the Mountain View Police Department.
Police were alerted to the break-in by an alarm from the store at 6:08 a.m.
The manager of the store said that the box of Plantronic headsets were the only thing missing. The box contained 24 of the electronic devices, which range in value from $50 to $150 each.
"This case brings up a good point for our local businesses," Wylie wrote in an email to the Voice. "Double doors can be problematic if not secured properly. If secured using only a standard deadbolt, someone could force the doors open simply by pushing hard on them. It is crucial that one side of the double doors has flush deadbolts going up and down into the frame."
