Crime briefs: Home, commercial burglaries

Two burglaries were reported on Jan. 6: at a business on High School Way and at a home on the 600 block of Cuesta Dr., according to police.

Burglar takes cash, safe from home

Cash, a safe and a check book were stolen in a Jan. 6 burglary of a home on the 600 block of Cuesta Dr., according to police.

The burglar, or burglars, entered the house sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to Sgt. Saul Jaeger, public information officer with the Mountain View Police Department. The front door was found forced open.

There were no witnesses to the crime, nor was there video. Police currently have no suspects.

Laptops stolen

A pair of laptops and a piece of rolling luggage were stolen on Jan. 6 from a business located at 800 High School Way, according to police.

The theft occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 7:48 p.m., according to Sgt. Saul Jaeger, public information officer for the Mountain View Police Department.

There were no signs of forced entry and no witnesses or video, Jaeger said.
