Man seriously injured in downtown fight

A man suffered serious injuries early Saturday morning (Aug. 9) when he was allegedly punched during an argument and fractured his skull when he hit the ground.

The fight occurred at St. Stephen's Green, an Irish sports bar and restaurant in downtown Mountain View, at 1:55 a.m. Jester Dantes, a 30-year-old Milpitas man, allegedly punched the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious, according to Sgt. Saul Jaeger of the Mountain View Police Department.

The victim fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete.

The victim, a 22-year-old Santa Clara man, suffered a fractured skull and hemorrhaging.

According to statements, Dantes punched the victim because he had "disrespected" Dantes' wife.

Dantes was arrested on the charge of battery with serious injury and booked into San Jose Main Jail.

What was said? Was it disrespectful or just the assailant's macho perception/excuse to be violent?

Is this another example of the neurological studies' of the male brain results? ie the default solution in the male frontal lobes is violence in answer to ... well, anything?

I do wish those studies and their results were front page news. Perhaps society would re-evaluate the idea that the male of the species can be trusted with ... well, anything.

No, this is alcohol related. No question about it.
What you suggested is the height of ...well, bigotry.
I'm sorry about how your father treated you.

This is alcohol related, and it IS a male thing. I assure you there are many more assaults male related than female. It's not bigotry, it's reality

and lets also get real about Milpitas. I assure you there are more people from Milpitas, San Jose, Oakland etc who get into fights than there are from Atherton, Peidmont and Palo Alto. It is a race thing. It's not bigotry, it's reality
