Celebrations will honor the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with two community events on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 19 and 20 in Palo Alto.

The first celebration of life, titled “The Dream Marches On,” runs from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. LaDoris H. Cordell, former Palo Alto City Council member and retired judge, will be the emcee. It will feature a guest speaker, singing performances and refreshments. It will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 625 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto. Call 650-323-6167 for more information.

The Monday event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at King Plaza at 250 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto. It will feature youth performances and a service honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. Call 650-283-1649 for more information.
