At about 8:21 p.m., the 22-year-old victim was stabbed once in the ribs during a fight at the park. The wound was not life-threatening, according to Sgt. Saul Jaeger of the Mountain View Police Department.

Jaeger said the man was at a local hospital being treated for his wound when a nurse contacted police, notifying them that the man appeared to have a stab wound.

The victim and one other witness didn’t provide consistent statements about what happened, according to the police. The case has been forwarded to detectives for a follow-up.
