Foothill reconsiders site for new center
|
| The Foothill-De Anza Community College District's new community center may come to Mountain View after all, as trustees search for a new location after deciding the Cubberley Center in Palo Alto may not be the best spot.
The district had been planning on expanding and remodeling the current center at Cubberley since it received $40 million under Measure C in 2006. But trustees are now looking at eight possible sites, four of which are in Mountain View, according to district spokesperson Becky Bartindale.
Despite the renewed search, trustees say there is a chance they could stay at Cubberley.
Trustees hope to obtain a long-term lease on a 10,000-square-foot property close to public transportation. — Casey Weiss Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
