| Vibha, a U.S.-based nonprofit, will host its annual "Dream Mile 5K & 10K Run & Walk" this weekend to raise money for child development initiatives in India and the United States.
Since 1991, Vibha has sought to secure better futures for underprivileged children by providing them with access to education, health care, shelter and food. The Dream Mile 2007's local beneficiary is Kids Coming Home, a program that provides training and support for foster care and adoptive families.
The event is Sunday, July 8, at Shoreline Park, 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View. Check-in and race-day registration will open at 7:30 a.m. The run and walk start at 8:30 a.m., and family festivities begin at 9 a.m.
The entry fee is $20 for adults, free for children 12 and under. To register, or to find out more, call (408) 636-8408. — Melody Dye Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
