No League of Women Voters endorsement, after all

He's off to a typical start for a politician. Deny you did it and blame someone else.

But what kind of man joins a women's group or needs their endorsement anyway? I'd like to see both his birth certificate and tax returns.

I think if people knew the late nights that Bill Lambert volunteered to observe school board meetings for the League of Women Voters, they wouldn't be so quick to judge.

I am thankful for the service he dedicated to the League of Women Voters, and for anyone who volunteers their time for non-partisan civic organizations.

I wish the MV Voice would dedicate more space to discussing all five candidates' education policies and qualifications rather than discussing a mistake by a third party webmaster that was corrected by Bill. Maybe national politics has to look like a game, but lets model something more substantive here in Mountain View.

Dave and vfree have it right:

1. A politician off to a good start by passing blame. Just where and how do you think the web manager obtained web content?

2. Leaque of Women Voters is a biased group.

I like Chiang's idea provided the candidate is up-front, which in this day is a rarity.

The only exemption is Vice Mayor JOHN INKS! He's personable, attentive and honest.

I'll second the exemption for the Vice Mayor.

Thanks to MV-Voice, I looked up the voting record of council members running for re-election on issues that I felt strongly about in the past couple of years. I found that John Inks represented my interests the best. I also agree that he's personable, attentive and honest. He walked my neighborhood last night leaving campaign literature. Can't get much more personal than that.

SN is a Candidate for MVWSD

Christopher, you know that part of politics, even local schools like MVWSD is 'game'. The LWV also plays this, as do you, and I. Chris, you did an excellent play in your first run for public office. For a filing fee, and a press release, you got your picture and education issues on the front page of the Voice. In your second run, for MVWSD, you are also helping get 'issues out there'. Good GAME!

LWV's Janice Pepper, a Los Altos resident, signed the ballot argument for a MVWSD issue as the 1st author. Did MVWSD Trustee Walter (LWV) put her up to it? OF Course. (It's documented on the original papers filed with the county). Fiona usually 'plays better game' than that. BTW, LWV past president Pepper is now running for Los Altos City Council!
