Gas leak shuts down Shoreline Boulevard
|
PG&E crews have stopped a gas leak in Mountain View that was caused by an accident involving a garbage truck Wednesday afternoon, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
The leak was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 on Comstock Queen Court, PG&E spokeswoman Monica Tell said.
She said the garbage truck struck a riser leading to a gas meter at a customer's home.
Police and firefighters responded and shut down southbound traffic on nearby Shoreline Boulevard, and evacuated homes in the immediate area, police said.
Tell said PG&E crews stopped the leak at 1:21 p.m. and were working to make permanent repairs.
She said gas service to the home where the accident occurred has been disrupted but should be restored later the same day.
