CORRECTION: Mineta, Lieber at City Hall

| Highway 85 will be known as the Norman Y. Mineta Highway beginning this Monday, Sept. 15 with a ceremony in front of Mountain View City Hall.
The event, which begins at 10 a.m., will be hosted by Assemblywoman Sally Lieber and Caltrans director Will Kempton. Taiko drummers will perform, and Mineta himself, who retired last year from his post as U.S. transportation secretary, will also attend.
Lieber introduced a resolution to the state Assembly that led to the highway renaming. Mineta, who was held in a Japanese internment camp during World War II, has been mayor of San Jose and held numerous other elected positions. San Jose's international airport is named after him, as is the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University.
