Arnold L. Cooley

Arnold L. Cooley, who was a prominent executive in Silicon Valley, died July 21 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was 79.
Mr. Cooley was born in Palo Alto, Calif., in 1933 and was a member of the Cooley family that founded San Carlos Airport and the original Ravenswood Ranch that is now part of Cooley Landing Park. He attended Palo Alto High School and later served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War.
Upon his return he embarked on a 35-year career in Silicon Valley, including 25 years as a leading executive in the hard disc storage industry before retiring to northern Idaho. Mr. Cooley is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Cooley; and his son, Brian Cooley, 50.
