Concetta Marie Mirenda DiFazio left this life on May 8, 2012. Concetta was born on April 11, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the youngest of three children born to Sicilian immigrant parents, Antonino and Anna Cali Mirenda.

Concetta worked as a clerk for Navy Intelligence during WWII. In 1944, she married Raymond DiFazio, an Army Sergeant just returned from Africa and the European Theater. In 1951, she moved with her husband, two small children and her elder sister and her family to Mountain View, California. There, they were reunited with her parents and her brother and his family. The entire family was very close and always gathered for weekly Sunday dinner.

Concetta was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Mountain View and a founding member of the Parent Teacher's Guild at St. Joseph's School, where her children studied. Concetta was an extraordinary woman, who with only a high school diploma, worked her way up from clerk typist at the local municipal court to Clerk of the Court, and eventually Citizen of the Year in Sunnyvale, California. She did this at a time when women rarely worked outside the home. Yet her children never lacked for any of the love and care of a stay-at-home mom. In 2010, Concetta moved to SLC Utah, to be near her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The youngsters doted on their "GG"

Concetta is survived by her son, Ray DiFazio, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; her daughter, Regina DiFazio Fischer (Daniel Start) of SLC, Utah; her grandchildren, Christina Fischer Phelps of Havertown, PA, David Fischer (Ilona Gorogh) and Julianna Fischer Ahrend (Matthew) both of SLC, UT, as well as her great grandchildren Breanna, Miranda, Tyler, Sidney, and Cooper and numerous nieces and nephews and their children and grand children. Waiting to welcome her were her husband, Raymond, her beloved parents, Anna and Antonino Mirenda, her sister, Carmela Simione, her brother Philip Mirenda and her dear grandson, Jeffrey Fischer.
