Police, medics respond to fight at Graham

What started as a scuffle over a backpack between two boys at Graham Middle School, turned into a fist-fight with Mountain View police and firefighters called to the scene on Friday, June 4, a police spokeswoman said.

The fight began between two students, ages 13 and 14, after a playful dispute over one of the boy's backpacks escalated, according to Liz Wylie, public information officer for the Mountain View Police Department. The 13-year-old punched the 14-year-old in the head multiple times, Wylie said.

The fire department responded to check out the 14-year-old's injuries and police cited the younger boy for fighting on school grounds, and then released him to the custody of his parents, Wylie said.
