Voices Around Town

Did you get your taxes done early this year, or wait until the last minute?

Asked in Downtown Mountain View. Pictures and interviews by Peter Maxwell

"I did my taxes in February. I like to get them done comfortably before putting in my property tax so I can get my refund."

Paul Cunningham, Mountain View

"I finished my taxes this past January or so, and I like to save my refund."

William Ware, Mountain View

"I usually wait 'till the last minute, do an extension, and do them in October, so I do it really late. I usually end up owing money because I own my own business."

Mark Elam, Santa Clara

"I get the taxes done as soon as possible, regardless. And I normally don't have to owe, so I get that money back real quick. "

Bradley McKinney, San Francisco

"We got our income taxes done early this year, and we owed a lot of money so we won't be splurging with a refund. But we got money from the state, which I never quite understand because we always owe money to the feds and get money back from the state."

Joel Klein, Belmont
