Voices Around Town

What do you think of the Post Office's plan to drop Saturday delivery?

Asked in downtown Mountain View. Photos and interviews by Dominic Fracassa.

"I expect it's the beginning of more downsizing that the Post Office is going to have to do. But it won't impact me all that much, I don't really get all that much mail."

Karen Leshner, Mountain View

"I think it's actually a pretty good idea because the way things are going now... if it saves them $2 billion-plus a year, it's probably a pretty good move.

Alfred Woo, Sunnyvale

"In this particular area, a lot of people work Monday through Friday, and Saturday is their go-to day to do Post Office things. That's not a good idea."

Weldon Johnson, San Jose

"It's going to be hard, but I think we'll adjust, a lot of places in the world don't get delivery on Saturdays, so we'll have to deal with it."

Dagmar Baker, San Jose

I would imagine most people work Monday through Friday, so I would have to go with the (Saturday) closure being kind of a negative thing."

Robert Fisher, Palo Alto
