On Wednesday night, two men wielding handguns robbed El Super Mercado grocery store located at 311 Moffett Blvd., police said.

According to Mountain View police spokeswoman Liz Wylie, the robbers entered the store at about 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 10, pointed their guns — one black and one silver — at the two store clerks and demanded the money in the store’s two registers.

The clerks — a man and a woman — were the only two people in the store, Wylie said. The clerks opened their registers, the armed men took the cash and fled. The robbers were last seen running eastbound through the market’s parking lot.

Palo Alto police assisted in the search for the two robbers, who were described as black men in their late twenties, about 6 feet tall and wearing black hooded sweatshirts, Wylie said. One of the men was heavy set, the other had an average build. Police were unable to locate the suspects.

There was no security footage of the robbery, Wylie said. The two clerks were the only witnesses.

  1. I am surpirsed we could not come up a way to make this kind of robbers trapped somehow during the process, like, either the floor sinks to the ground at the touch of a some button near the cash register or there is a net falling from the ceiling or bucket of gello or an electric shock,or some thing… may be store owners should carry a taser or a sharp iron rod projecting from a wall.. I don’t know..I hope they catch the robbers and hang them, really, hang them..these guys never learn a lesson..there are 100s more following them unless the punishment is death by hanging.
