It makes me sad to be reminded of all the pain in people's lives that most of us never see. Remember when you see a stranger, that you don't know what their day has been like and maybe, a kind word or smile from you will make the difference for them. At least if you don't have that in you, perhaps you can hold off from taking out your pain or bad day on a stranger.

The man is gone but the memory of his stepping in front of the train will not be gone for a long time for the engineer and passengers on the train. This causes scarring that sometimes never heals. "Suicide by train" needs to stop. If you know a depressed friend, please try to get them to a clinic or have them call 1-800-SUICIDE for help in dealing with their problems. All of our local mental health clinics are excellent, compassionate and can truly assist in digging out of that deep, dark hole that can lead to suicide.
