VTA board OKs strategies to save Caltrain

The board of the Valley Transportation Authority voted unanimously Thursday evening in support of a set of funding strategies that could save Caltrain from slashing service over the next two years.

Any new money coming in should be used first to keep stations open. If that means M-F peak commute service only, covering all stations, so be it. Its more important to serve all communities going to work, than to have empty trains running off-peak hours for misc trips.

Our Mountain View representative on the VTA board deserves a lot of credit for coaxing this through the system (as presiding officer). How come no mention of her name?
