"To sign up for the feature, either text 32075 or visit www.alertscc.com"

So in the subhead and first comment we have "text-massage" and a "sigh-up." And some of us are easily amused

"The feature also benefits residents who have a language barrier."

Typo. Should say "The feature also benefits residents who don't speak English."

The Mexican consul general wants to make sure he gets out the message to the illegals that they won't have to give personal information to the government in order to get the texts. Because that is his #1 priority, protect the illegals.

What a great place we live in.

"Quake, tsunami in Japan prompts new text-massage alerts for Santa Clara County" should be "... prompts new text-message alerts ..."
