Original post made on Apr 13, 2011

Keibun Son, the woman who killed a Mountain View man in a hit-and-run accident July 19, pleaded no contest on April 13 to the charges against her. She may face up to one year in prison and her license will be revoked for one year, according to a court spokeswoman.

Keibun Son is/was apparently an acupuncturist commuting to MV for work.

Only 1 year for killing someone and trying to cover it up!?!? I would expect more like 25 years.

Wow, what little value we place on our neighbor's life.

The court "dismissed the misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the interest of justice with a stipulation that the court can impose restitution for the collision," according to Amy Cornell, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County District Attorney

In the interest of justice???????????
Why cant they impose restitution with out dismissing the charge of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter??

Some key info is missing here; like she has a real good lawyer who has good friends in court/DA

What a joke.

Interesting that their last names are related

Driver: Keibun Son
Pedestrian (who died): Manuel Enos

If you reverse the letters of the Pedestrian's last name, you get: Sone, the first 3 of which are the same as her last name.

Unfreakingbelievable! A pedestrian is in the bloody crosswalk and is struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, and the driver "may face up to one year in prison and her license will be revoked for one year". Are you kidding me???!!! This is it for taking a life and trying to hide from it???!!! What kind of a legal system and what kind of a DA would allow this? The take away from this story is apparently you can use a car to kill someone and get away with it! This is beyond a travesty!

So hypothetically if I have a bag of illicit drugs and someone steals it, if I run over them with my car in a crosswalk and of course take off, the worst that will happen to me is maybe a year in prison and maybe losing my license for one year??? Historically I won't be punished for the drugs because after all I was the "victim" in that and the hit and run, well they were in a crosswalk, so obviously it's THEIR fault!!!! Really?!?!?! What happened to accountability for one's actions??? No wonder the rest of the country thinks CA is full of a bunch of kooks!!!!!

See what a good lawyer can do for you, $50,000 well spent Keibun. Kinda makes me sick but if you live life the right way you deserve "breaks", she should not have left the scene though.
