Fry's at the new San Antonio Center?

Original post made by Shopper on May 3, 2011

Posters on the Palo Alto messages board report that the Fry's on El Camino is closing to make room for new housing. Someone suggested it be re-opened in Mountain View as part of the new San Antonio Center. A Fry's in Mountain View?! I second that idea!

It would be nice to have a Fry's in town but I can also see it making traffic on San Antonio road even worse than it is now.

Cool! What theme should the Mountain View Fry's have? Maybe they could pluck up the entire Shockley Semiconductor building and use it as the coffee shop in the middle of the store.

Wait! I'm not thinking big enough. They could pluck up Hangar One, move it to the corner of San Antonio and El Camino, and use it as the store.

Or maybe put the whole store inside the Airship Venture Zeppelin and hover it over San Antonio? Mike, I was being serious! What was so amusing about my suggestion? If Palo Alto doesn't want Fry's then I say send those tax dollars down the road to us. At least Fry's is more interesting than a Safeway and it would attract more Googlites to move into the housing being planned there.

Shopper, I really like your idea. Sorry, if you thought I was mocking it.

All's good Mike. Thanks for your input.
