This is BRILLIANT! An excellent application of tax dollars! This is the kind of thing that we, as a nation, should be doing. Give NASA that high-speed rail boondoggle, maybe they can make something out of it.
NASA is worth every penny they get, and more.
NASA gets 0.6% of the federal budget. Projects like this makes me think it's a very good investment.

While I applaud NASA for using green design for their new building, what the article fails to address is the intended use for the building. The building was selected as the winner of a competition (among NASA Centers) a few years back to renovate through replacement... basically replacing outdated building with new buildings. Cutting to the chase, they replaced an outdated wind-tunnel with a support and administration building. Just a sign of the times that even NASA has such bureaucratic hurdles to get anything done that it is more in need of space for administrative/bureaucratic tasks than space for conducting research. I can't fault the Ames folks for building the new structure, but kind of a sad indictment of the current state of affairs.
