When then city manager Kevin Duggan welcomed Google to the North Bayshore many years ago, no one knew that this tiny start-up-would become one of the most successful tech companies ever seen in the world, let alone Silicon Valley. Using a patented technology that could search the web in split seconds, Google offered a product now hard to live without. Its stock shot upward and its corporate footprint kept growing, spreading out in the Shoreline area, where there was plenty of office space.
