So the next time the schools in the Mountain View need money they should go to the City to get the money. Not to pass a prop to get more money on everyones house. I grew up in the east coast and the area I grew up in 1/3 of your city property tax went to the city school. Here the state funds the Majority of the City schools.
most of the money to go to city government !!!!!
and a tiny tiny bit to helping residents
how about money to help those displaced by rising rents. to help prevent evictions, to assist displaced to find new accommodations etc etc
"Rich proposes putting the money into various reserves, including $915,000 to general fund reserves, $1.2 million into a "compensated absences" reserve," $300,000 into a workers compensation reserve, up to $2 million to a capital improvement reserve, $1 million towards retirees health care costs and $1 million towards growing employee pension costs.
Among $774,000 in other miscellaneous expenses, Rich also proposes $150,000 for the city to hire a mobility coordinator also called a bike and pedestrian czar for two years. Another $110,000 could go to hiring a part-time civil engineer to help handle the city's numerous infrastructure projects."
Bravo for City Manager Rich for proposing to place the excess into reserves instead of spending it. Spending it now would set up the City for a future deficit.
