Update on injured bicyclist Tuesday a.m.?
Around Town, posted by Jennifer, a resident of the Old Mountain View neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2009 at 5:37 pm

Wondering if anyone knows what happened to the bicyclist who collapsed or had been hit at Rengstorff and Central Expressway this morning (Tuesday) at about 8:45 a.m.?

When I drove by, she had just gone down and a driver was beside her on the phone making the 911 call. Thankfully several people ran over to the cyclist to aid her. (That's always reassuring to see.) I had to keep driving so as not to block traffic, but I hoped that the cyclist was not seriously injured.

I was wondering the same thing. I overheard via my Caltrain conductor's radio that the cyclist was hit by a car. My train passed by very close to 8:45, and emergency crews were there already.

Thanks, Richard. I'm glad to know the emergency crews got there. I overheard the woman making the 911 call, very upset, yelling at the dispatcher to send paramedics and then hanging up abruptly. She was calling from a cell phone, so I hoped that she had been connected to the right municipality and gave the right location. In moments of stress, sometimes it's hard to remember what to do...
