A great big "Thank You" to all the City Council members who had the foresight to approve the Stevens Creek Trail and all of its extensions over the years. You're leaving behind a legacy that will be used and enjoyed by generations to come. It's definitely not an inexpensive project but well worth the cost in the long run.

Thanks to the unsung heros of this project, the engineers of Public Works and their engineering consultants who surely spent long hours getting approval from Fish and Game, PG&E, the water district, City Council and (last but not least) NIBMYs.

Thanks so much to the leadership in Mountain View! In these tough times, you've brought a sense of confidence and security to the city. As a relatively new resident (since 2005), my wife and son and I are looking to buy a larger home, and it's because of initiatives like these, and clear steps towards improving the community, that we want to remain in Mountain View and really set down some roots.

I biked it today and it is a very pleasant new addition to the trail.
I kept wondering what, if anything, could be done with the many acres between the trail and Highway 85. This might be a great spot for a community garden with water drawn directly from the creek. I'm sure there are many other great potential uses... anybody want to share some ideas?

Thanks to all who promoted this project and to all who worked on it. I have been using the trail for several years now to commute to my office on my bicycle. With this extension I do not have to deal with dangerous traffic on Grant Rd. and El Camino.

Another reason that Mtn. View is the best city on the Peninsula.
Now they should pave the Northern end of the trail connection with Shoreline Park along the berm (right in front of the water/property line) that is not currently being used but is perfect for a trail. That end of the trail could also use a water fountain for humans and our four legged friends.

The Bridge over Moffett Blvd. can only be described as Magnificent. Many thanks to all the Civil workers who are working on this project. It's going to make biking to work fun and a lot safer.

I love the Stevens Creek Trail and I ride it regularly. I'm happy to see it expanding, but not everyone is. This past week a co-worker of mine sent out an email to a very wide list asking for support from Sunnyvale residents to keep the trail out of Sunnyvale. The concern stems from the trail going through the backyards of Sunnyvale residents. Hmmm...this sounds familiar

The Stevens Creek Trail is the best bike path on the peninsula by a large margin. It is very beautiful. It is a great commuter route connecting many Mountain View neighborhoods with schools and employers and parks.
I just wish that other cities on the peninsula can build similar trails so bicyclists do not have to fight with car traffic at the many treacherous interchanges along Hwy 101 and Hwy 280.

We biked the trail today and it's beautiful! It's so nice not to have to fight the traffic on Grant and El Camino to the Yuba entrance of the trail. Thanks so much for bringing the trail to our neighborhood!

I remember when many people in that neighborhood did no want the trail to go south of ecr. Thanks to the far sighted people who knew the trail would be a boon for homeowners in that area,

My husband and I love to bike the trial out to Baylands park and along all the levees! Now we can leave right from our neighborhood, we biked it for the first time last weekend, BEAUTIFUL! Thank You!!!

This trail is a magnificent resource and the longer it gets the more useful it is. I hope the Luddites in Sunnyvale wake up and realize how much it could bring to their community if it is extended there. They just need to visit Mountain View to see how popular it is.

I love this trail. Shoreline Park and Stevens Creek trail has been he backbone of a number of my commutes over the last decade. In part due to this trail, I have been fortunate enough to make the bicycle my primary mode of transportation in the Santa Clara valley.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to make a connection trail on the levee east of Moffett Field to the Sunnyvale Baylands and San Thomas Creek Trail. This extension could form a contiguous non motorized path from the Baylands at the boarder of San Mateo county to central expressway near the San Jose airport, downtown San Jose, and trail work up and down the Guadalupe River.
Maybe one day we could go all the way from Dowtown Old Niles (Fremont), through Milpitas, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose to Los Gatos without automobile traffic. At approximately a metric century and spaning, many of the best trails in the South San Francisco Bay Area it would make wonderful showcase bicycle/marathon events and numerous more opportunities for non-motor commuters in a practical everyday sense.

Just back from my first bike ride from downtown Palo Alto all the way to the new end of the trail. What a wonderful gift for everyone who loves our great outdoors. Thank you to the City of Mountain View, and I hope the rest of the trail gets funded in short order.
