Not a violent felony, that's true; however, these are criminals in training. They should've been send to juvenile hall to learn that their actions have consequences. Where were the parents?

This is where it all starts. Just slap them on the hand so they can do it again!

These are minors, so let the parents take care of it. Some kids do stupid things in life, thank god they were stopped before anything bad happened. I do not think they should go to Juvenile Hall though. Why spend taxpayers money on something the parents can deal with. Plus, once in the system it is hard to get out. Mountain View police have good judgement and I think they did the right thing.

The MVPD actually had no choice about booking them into Juvenile Hall. The county only allows juveniles to be booked under certain situations - namely violent felonies. It's too crowded to take in non-violent felonies and misdemeanor cases. MVPD had no choice in the matter; they were following the rules of the county.

Thats the age were you need to really know where your kid is all the time, and who they are with. Once they go to the dark side its hard to bring them back. Thank God my Mother doesn't know what I did at 14,I just never got caught. I hope this is the worst thing they ever do,maybe some community service will help.
