In the days, weeks and months prior to her death Monday morning on the tracks just north of the San Antonio station in Mountain View, Heather Russell had been systematically and brutally beaten, friends and colleagues said. They insist there is more to her death than a suicide, and they don't want police to close the case.

This is really tragic. I met heather a few times through a friend of a friend. She used to come into peet's at town and country all the time with her ex, and I would occasionally bump into her at borders and Rasputin. She seemed like a sweet, fun and nice young lady, and I am saddened that this happened. Based on some of the details of this story, I would not be surprised if she was murdered. I hope they can prosecute her boyfriend.
