Bike to Work Day, Google style

In celebration of Bike to Work Day, over 500 Google employees pedaled to the Googleplex Thursday from around the Bay Area.

According to pictures posted on the official Google blog, a group of riders made the three hour trip from San Francisco, which Google employee Debbie Leight says she makes every day.

"Most people think I'm crazy, but seeing the sun rise over the bay and feeling the rush of the air as I speed down Cortland Hill at close to 30mph on my bike makes it all worth it," Leight writes.

Meanwhile, a petition is being circulated to have a "bike there" option added to Google maps which would compliment the existing "drive there" and public transit options for routing directions from one address to another, taking into account trails and bike lanes.

30mph? What a trip! Amazing velocity for a ride in bicycle.

Congratulations to Debbie, I hope to be able some day to repeat it.

Last but not least, you're not crazy.
