Tunneling under El Camino

Section by section, the Stevens Creek Trail is tunneling under El Camino Real as 4,000 cars an hour whiz by overhead.

A bridge OVER Hwy 85? Wow. Certainly sounds like a major project. I personally would prefer a tunnel, but I guess that is less feasible for some reason. It seems like the connection to Sleeper Ave will not be available until 2009, so this stage basically delivers a tunnel to the other side of El Camino. I commute to Mountain View from Sunnyvale, so I am really looking forward to the connection to the east side of 85. Still, this is a real step in the right direction!
