Reports of swine flu climb in Santa Clara County

The Santa Clara County Public Health Department on Thursday reported 14 additional probable cases of swine flu, now referred to as the H1N1 virus, a department spokeswoman said.

Interesting - but which is it? Your title says 14 probably and 31 confirmed but the article says 14 confirmed and 31 probable. Big difference on such a hot button topic these days .... ? And it would be relevant to say how much of the backlog has been tested? Is this the result of 25% of the backlog or 95%?

Please check The California Department of Public Health. The press and local authorities have been all over the map on the numbers.

Santa Clara 14 confirmed, 21 probable.

If this "crisis" has shown one thing, it is how sloppy both the press and health officials around the county have been with getting accurate information to the public.
