Mountain View High School dominated DemandTec's Retail Challenge -- an online business competition that simulates real-life scenarios in marketing and merchandising. Six MV students -- Elise Sugarman, Jody Zhang, Greg Daniloff, Jenee Smith, Bradlay Howard and Eric Bastoul -- beat out nearly 50 other competitors in the regional competition, and were recognized as finalists at a ceremony Wednesday.
Sugarman and Zhang, partners in team "Demandate," were named the ultimate regional winners at Wednesday's event. The two split a $10,000 scholarship prize, courtesy of Safeway, and will compete in a national competition in January against other regional finalists. First prize: ringing the bell at NASDAQ. Good luck, team Demandate!
