this sandwich has alot of hype behind it. from articles on cnn to local news reporting about it. it came out on monday and for those not familiar here is picture of it Web Link

it is basically 2 chicken patties with monterey jack and pepper jack cheese plus 2 pieces of bacon and a sauce. i only eat out once a week and this week i decided to try it. i went to KFC near castro and there were about 7 people in line coincidentally the 4 in front of me ordered the double down as well and so did 1 behind me, at 6.99 for the combo and 4.99 for the sandwich KFC is definitley cleaning up on these sandwiches. it has about 550 calories and 1400 mg of sodium.

so the verdict? it was average, did not live up to my expectations and for 8 dollars i will take my money and eat elsewhere, i am glad i tried it. the over whelming taste of salt and the lack of anything rememberable made it a chore to eat. i was not looking as forward to my next bite as i thought i would. KFC making 50 dollars in about 4 minutes still baffles me.....
