Study: we wasted 4.8 million hours playing Pac-Man on Google

Millions of people played Pac-Man on the video game's 30th anniversary last Friday when Google transformed its homepage logo into a Pac-Man game.

[Web Link A study of traffic on Google's homepage] found that the average visitor during the Pac-Man tribute spent an extra 36 seconds there.

The obvious conclusion to be drawn here, according the tongue-in-cheek study, is that at least 4,819,352 man hours were lost playing the game, which cost the economy $120,483,800 if labor is calculated at $25 an hour.
