A place to catch some air

After five years of delay, the city is quickly rolling towards putting in a bike park at Shoreline that could become a destination for BMX bicyclists and mountain bikers from miles around.

I am a local Mountain biker and only have one jump in my back yard, so having this bike park would really be awsome compaired to what i have. It is also a place were bikers can go, have a good time, meet knew friends, and stay out of trouble but also having fun.

I'm 48 years old, and I and my friends use to ride the creektrails site way back in the mid-70's as kids, when it looked far different but still had some fun trails, jumps and drops.

I think the mtn. bike park is a great idea, since every open field and lot in Mountain View I use to play in has been developed, including those out by Shoreline Park. Believe it or not, I still ride city and mountain trails with my friends of similar age, although we leave the big jumps to the younger set.

Anyway, Putting the bike park near the dog park could be disturbing for the dogs, some of which love to chase or run with bikes (I'm a dog owner too). The site farther east looks like a superior location, and I know the site well, since I;ve ridden there many times. The kids received a relatively poor skateboard site at Rengstorff Park, compared to those set in concrete I've seen in other nearby cities like Palo Alto, so I hope the city does better this time and builds a quality park.
