Empty lot on Minaret near Whisman??
Around Town, posted by Tom, a resident of the Whisman Station neighborhood, on Mar 3, 2008 at 3:21 pm

Hey,

Does anybody know what is the big empty lot on Minaret next to Central Park apartments near Whisman? Why are there no houses? Is it an old dump and the land is toxic?

Thanks,

Tom

Good question... I walk by that empty lot all the time and would like to know as well.

Lets make it the new community garden until they develop it.

Rumor has it that the dirt was used to build Moffett Field way back

when. We've heard that the owner has no intention of selling it for

development. Two or three times a year he gets the tractor out and

plows under all the weeds.

Along the same lines... Does anyone know who owns the big, basically empty lot on the northwest corner of Middlefield and Moffett? I noticed on maps that it is not incorporated into the City of Mountain View. It seems like it would be a great site for a city park.
