Cynthia Zawilski has been working to change the image of skateboarding, which is still dominated by the boys. And last Friday, the eighth grader scored again, winning her third gold medal at the annual Girls' Middle School skateboarding competition.

This is a great program and I'm glad to see the health benefits of skateboarding are finally being appreciated and skateboarding is being brought into the mainstream. I only wish there was a program like this when I was in school.
